Day 1

JRO – Arusha (1hr):

Accommodation : Arumeru River Lodge
Meal Plan : Full Board Basis

On arrival at JRO meet with HM Safaris Staff (Please look for the board with your name on it), and transfer to Arumeru River Lodge for dinner and overnight. The lodge has swimming pool for you to relax and get relief after long flights.


Day 2

Arusha – Arusha (1hr):

Accommodation : Arumeru River Lodge
Meal Plan : Full Board Basis

Free day in at Arumeru River Lodge. This day we need to do equipment inspection to make sure every treker is well prepared to conquer the roof of Africa.


Days 3

Arusha – Nalemoru Gate – Simba Camp

Accommodation : Simba Camp
Meal Plan : Full Board Basis

Breakfast and thereafter Kilimanjaro briefing, afterward you will be picked up and transfer to the Rongai (Nalemoru) Gate where you will register, commence the climb with your guide and porters. Your first day takes you through this less forested northern side of the mountain to the Simba Camp located at an altitude of 8,400 feet (2600 meters). After resting you will enjoy a relaxing dinner at Simba Camp.

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest Mountain in Africa and one of the highest volcanoes in the World. It rises to 15,000 feet above the surrounding plains and savannah. In climbing it you will pass from a tropical to an arctic climate in a few days.

The surrounding rain forest ensures the fertility of the lush, lower-lying Shamba (country), where the Chagga people cultivate their coffee, maize and bananas.


Day 4

Simba Camp – Kikelewa Camp:

Meal Plan : Full Board Basis

After breakfast you will leave the forest and come to the open moorlands to reach the Kikelewa Camp located at an altitude of 11,810 feet (3600m). Dinner and overnight at Kikelewa Camp.


Day 5

Mawenzi Tarn Hut

Accommodation : Mawenzi Tarn Hut
Meal Plan : Full Board Basis

After the breakfast you will start a short but steep trek up to Mawenzi Tarn Camp which is 14,200 feet (4,330m). Enjoy stunning views of the Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Dinner and overnight at Mawenzi Tarn Hut.


Day 6

Mawenzi Tarn Hut – Kibo Hut

Accommodation : Kibo Hut
Meal Plan : Full Board Basis

After breakfast at Mawenzi Tarn Camp, proceed trekking to Kibo Hut crossing landscape of the saddle. Picnic lunch en route. Dinner at Kibo Hut which is 15,580 feet (4,750m).


Day 7

Kibo – Summit – Horombo

Accommodation : Horombo Hut
Meal Plan : Full Board Basis

Make an early rise just after midnight for trekking to the summit. Arrive at Gilman’s Point (5,685m) before sunrise. Then proceed to Uhuru Peak (5895m) and after some relaxation and viewing it is time to commence the descent to Horombo Hut. Celebratory dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut (3,720m).


Day 8

Horombo – Marangu Gate – Arusha

Accommodation : Arumeru River Lodge
Meal Plan : Half Board Basis

Breakfast and continue your descend to Marangu Gate and collect your certificates for successful trek. You will then be transferred to Arusha for dinner and overnight at Arumeru River Lodge. [3-4hrs]


Day 9

Departure

Arusha – JRO: : (1hr)

Transfer to JRO for your onward flight
